Reporting based on info types

reporting SAP

In SAP HR there are a number of standard reports covering different needs in human resources management, time management and payroll. These reports can be adapted to individual needs by using different selection criteria and printing variants. Nevertheless, additional reports may be required.

In SAP HR there are a number of possibilities to create your own reports by using Ad Hoc queries. This is a simple reporting tool where the user can extract data from all the information types in SAP HR .

The information can be designed according to the user's preferences. All the information available in the infotypes can be compiled into a report based on selection criteria that are also based on the information in the infotypes. Thus, one can query all persons who have a certain information in one field to find the value in another field. Such reports are particularly effective for reporting directly on recorded HR data. The reports can be saved for later use, modified as needed, and printed on paper or exported to Microsoft Word or Excel for further processing.

Example of selection of information types

Object Manager is a simplified version of Ad Hoc Query, but with many of the same possibilities. A selection of employees can be retrieved in the same way as in Ad Hoc Query and you can have them listed on the right side of the screen. You can then double-click on an employee as shown in the list and have this available in e.g. "Maintenance of personnel data" (PA30). This way you can, for example, retrieve all employees from a specific department and work with them to register variables in payroll. This is then done instead of searching for individual employees in the employee number field.

In addition to this function, reports can be created as in Ad Hoc query for printing. You can add as many fields/columns as you wish. Unlike the full version of Ad Hoc Query, the report layout cannot be saved in Object Manager.
