Do we need a longer quota for transferred vacation days?

Part of the amendment to the Holiday Act 2014 was that all statutory holidays that were not discontinued during the holiday year should be transferred to the next holiday year. As a result, we now see that the need for a separate quota for transferred holidays is no longer present.

In accordance with previous regulations, one has normally settled the status of holiday quotas at the end of the year and transferred benefits and agreed days from the current year to a new quota for "Transferred holiday". Before 2014, the maximum number of vacation days in this quota would be 10 (+4) days. After the change in the law, there is no limit to how many days are transferred and thus this quota becomes redundant.

How do we go about solving this in SAP ?

Normally a holiday quota is in SAP with a deduction period of one calendar year (1.1 - 31.12). We are now free to extend the withdrawal period for another year (or more if desired).

Example:
1. Current solution:
The picture below shows a clip from Infotype 2006 as most people have set up their vacation quota today.

2. New solution:
In cases where one has agreed to transfer the maximum number of days but still has additional vacation days to benefit, a previously compensated/possibly delisted remaining days would have been delisted so that the balance was 0 at year-end.

When the excess can no longer be compensated or ironed out, we may find that employees agree to transfer the maximum vacation days but still have days left on the quota. In order to use these, we must nevertheless extend the migration period, or create an additional quota to which these are transferred.
Here we show how the quota is set up in accordance with the proposal to extend the migration period. The same quota can be used over two years:

Furthermore, from the example above it will look like this in 2017:

Here, the employee has been awarded a new holiday quota from the year 2016, but still has the opportunity to use the last day of vacation from the year 2015.
The draft rules (order) we set up will ensure that vacation days that are registered always subtract from the oldest quotas first.

Sariba emphasises that this is only a technical simplification and not a recommendation to allow violations of the Holiday Act. It remains the case that if more days are left than can be agreed upon, there has been a violation of the Holiday Act. However, the consequence is only that the holiday is automatically transferred to next year along with the money.

The quota that applies to extra holiday days for employees over the age of 60 can also be extended as described above.
In cases where the employee requires the transfer of accrued holiday days u/ payroll this can be solved by accessing the quota in question and manually changing the date for the final withdrawal.
