SAP Next-Gen Norway is a new program under the auspices of SAP Norway, aimed at the workforce of the future. To give students insight into what SAP is at the same time giving them the opportunity to build their network. Through Next-Gen has SAP Norway established SAP Student Community. SAP Student Community consists of both bachelor's and master's students from various studies in technology, marketing and economics from universities and colleges throughout Norway.

During a period of four months, several themed evenings are arranged where students get to solve real business cases related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The assignments provide practical experience and insight into the topics Design Thinking, Front-end Development and Machine Learning.

The reason why we at Sariba want to participate in this program is several:

  • We want to contribute to learning for students
  • We will develop relationships in the next generation of labour
  • We want to reinforce our focus on innovation
  • We will establish relationships for future recruitment

"Design Thinking" to work towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Sariba sponsored the first collection where the theme was Design Thinking. Sariba had chosen a task to shed light on the UN's third Sustainable Development Goal, "Ensuring and promoting good health for all". We challenged the students with the thesis:

How can we ensure a healthy life and promote the well-being of everyone (employees) of all ages by working smarter and thus creating a better workplace?

The students were divided into groups and through expert guidance from SAP with Gitte Winther Brun at the helm, the students were guided through the Design Thinking process. Design Thinking is a method used to solve complex problems that result in new ideas.

The session yielded five different and creative results that Sariba was very pleased with. The winning group's input is included in Sariba's further work, and the six dteltakers in the winning group all received a Sariba goodie bag with great prizes.
Sariba would like to thank all the students for their efforts and we look forward to further cooperation.
