If you have employees with children under the age of 12,you know that they are entitled to keep absence in case of children's illness. How many days they can lead depends on how many children they have. If your employees have one or two children, they are entitled to 10 days. If they have three or more children, they are entitled to 15 days.

If any of your employees are sole dependents or have children with chronic disorders, the number of days they are entitled to may be increased. This is based on a decision from nav.

Solution for follow-up of absence in sick children

Following up on absences related to sick children can be both a manual and time-consuming process. This is, among other things, because the number of days in the absence quota can vary from person to person. To help you with this challenge, we have created a solution in SAP HR that follows up on exactly this. The solution will simplify your follow-up processes.

The solution checks registered absences for sick children, up to a quota that is updated automatically for each year.

The prerequisites for the solution to work are that the employee's child is registered with the date of birth in the system. In addition, any decisions concerning extended rights must be registered, with the start and end date and number of days.

The quota is created automatically with the correct number of days, and absences, which the employee registers, are deducted from the quota. This prevents too many absence days from being registered.  The refund you are entitled to from nav will also be correct.

As long as the information on the children is updated in the system, your HR department does not need to spend time either creating the quota or checking the amount of absences registered. However, if necessary, manual corrections to the quota can be made in the system.
