Marit shares her experiences SuccessFactors

Goal and employee interview

Do you have a brilliant solution for performance appraisal for your employees? If yes: then great! We hope it's really good and that it gives you full value for money. If you haven't, or you'd like to find out more about what's on the market, we've got good news for you. There is an excellent solution for performance and appraisal. It's called Performance & Goals and is a module in SAP's well-known and leading HR platform SAP SuccessFactors .

We have had a quick chat with our super smart colleague, Marit Søderberg, about this particular module. She has been a solution architect in a number of ways SuccessFactors -projects, and has been involved in the implementation of this module quite a few times. Marit knows both Sariba and many of our customers very well, so we would like to hear more about her experiences and impressions of the module.

I see that when it is all rooted in the top management, there will be a focus on it throughout the organisation. Thats  great to see!

Increased focus on employee development

- What do you feel is the reason(s) why customers are interested in target and employee interviews?

- I find that the initiative often comes from top management. There is a battle to keep the very best people, and this results in an increased focus on employee development. One way to do this is to focus on development interviews in particular, and to allow them to take a greater place in the working day.

When customers use the tool Performance & Goals , they give managers and employees the opportunity to have ongoing development discussions throughout the year. In the past, employee interviews have been something that has been carried out once a year because it has been on a plan. But with Performance & Goals you easily follow up the employees throughout the year. You ensure that those you consider to be top talents are taken care of, that they are developed and that they are not bored. To put it another way: You're not having the conversation just for the sake of having the conversation—you're having the conversation because it actually adds value. Not only for the company, but also for both managers and employees. I see that when it is all rooted in the top management, there is a focus on it throughout the organisation. And it's fun to watch!

Flexible modules

- But what do the employees think?

- What I have received from feedback is that the solution is really user-friendly. It is clear and nice, and can of course be used on mobile. This means that the employees think it is simple and straightforward to use the solution, which actually means that it is used.

- You have set up this solution many times - what have you learned?

- I have learned that Performance & Goals is a flexible module. And by that I mean that the actual steps in the process are flexible, and that it is easy to adapt the module to each customer's processes in the implementation phase.

It is a fairly simple module to implement, and it is also easy to maintain. Many of our customers make most of the changes themselves, according to GoLive.

Another thing I've learned is that many customers think this is a great module to start with - the reason for this is that it can be implemented on its own, and that it's a smaller project.

- Thank you very much for taking the time to answer, Marit!
